City of Pescara

Pescara is an Italian town, capital of the province. It is the largest city in Abruzzo by number of inhabitants, and is registered with the regional capital of L'Aquila, the Council offices, the Executive and Regional Experiences of theatrical anthropology.

Until 1927 the territory of the town of Pescara was divided between the two towns of Pescara in the south of the Maas in the province of Chieti, and Castellammare Adriatico, north of the river in the province of Teramo. Following the unification of the two centers, in 1927, was also set up the province, through the efforts of Gabriele d'Annunzio, Pescara, and James Acerbo, a native of Loreto Aprutino. Within the narrow limits of the municipal area (33.62 km2) counts 123,062 inhabitants, but the metropolitan area of Chieti-Pescara it currently has approximately over 330,000 (2009).

However, if the perimeter of the metropolitan area is made taking into account the phenomenon of commuting are obtained considerably higher values (about 450,000 according to the classification FUR).
