The Province of Potenza is the province of Basilicata, 385,309 inhabitants [1], belongs to the regional capital, Potenza. Facing west for a short stretch of the Tyrrhenian Sea, bordered to the west by Ontario (Province of Salerno and Avellino Province), north to Puglia (province of Foggia, Province of Barletta-Andria-Trani and the Province of Bari) to the east with the Province of Matera, in the south of Calabria (province of Cosenza).
 

Geography

The larger of the province of Matera, Basilicata, that of power is characterized by the multiplicity of environments that make it up. In fact, inside there are several industrial parks, like that of San Nicola di Melfi, but purely natural environments such as lakes Monticchio, the Maratea coast (the only landlocked province), the central area of the forest and the Lucan vast Pollino National Park, shared with Calabria.

The main town is power, which has focused the majority of government services. Second city of the province, by number of inhabitants, and Melfi. Economic development and population of what was once the city of Frederick II of Swabia, was mainly due to the presence of the industrial area of San Nicola, which are located in activities related to the automotive sector of FIAT. They are part of the province's lakes and reservoirs Monticchio Monte Cotugno, Pertusillo, Acerenza and Rendina.

It crossed the highway A3, which are accessed through four exits in the municipalities of Lagonegro (North and South) and Lauria (North and South).
