Avellino is an Italian town of 56,517 inhabitants, capital of the province in Campania.

The provincial town of Avellino in the homonymous city is located in the heart of a large basin field dominated by the Apennines mountain ranges Picentini and feverfew and is surrounded to the south-west from Mount Faliesi and north-east of the Montevergine the most important and famous mountain of feverfew, a place of pilgrimage to venerate the Madonna di Montevergine in the twelfth century Benedictine Sanctuary, located on the mountain at 1272 m.
The city is crossed by several rivers: the Rigatore, San Francisco and Fenestrelle, tributaries of the River Saturday, now much depleted and partially buried.
The surroundings of the village are lush with vegetation: the prevailing culture of the hazelnut, the valuable "nuts hazelnuts.
