The Domus of stone carpets is an archaeological site in the city of Ravenna, located near the Church of St. Euphemia.

Located about three feet below street level, has many mosaics belonging to a large Byzantine palace (V - VI century). Currently there are fourteen mosaic floors decorated with geometric, vegetal and figurative, with a total area of 700 m².

Among the more they remember the so-called Good Shepherd, which is different from the traditional Christian iconography, and the Dance of the Genes of the seasons, a rare case of genes dancing in a circle.

The monument was inaugurated on October 30, 2002 by the then President of the Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, on the occasion of the celebration of 1600 years of Ravenna Capital of the Roman Empire. " He also obtained Bell'Italia Prize in 2004.
