Trieste (Tergeste in Latin in the dialect of Trieste Trieste, Trst in Slovene, German Triest, Trieszt in Hungarian) is an Italian town of 208,781 inhabitants on the border with Slovenia capital of the province and autonomous region with special status Friuli Venezia Giulia . Trieste is one of 15 Italian metropolitan city. The metropolitan area includes the entire surface of the provincial town.
Territory
The city is located in the far north-eastern Italian, near the border with Slovenia, the northernmost part of the Northern Adriatic and facing the bay.
