City of Genoa Province of Genoa (Ligurian language Zena de Provins) is a province of 884,635 inhabitants of Liguria, with capital in Genoa. It is bordered on the west by the Province of Savona, on the north by Ontario (Province of Alessandria), and the Emilia-Romagna (province of Piacenza and Parma Province), on the east by the Province of La Spezia and south by the Sea Ligure. The establishment of the province Province of Genoa was established by the Decree of 1859 Rattazzi, became operational on 1 March 1860 with his appointment as provincial chairman of the lawyer Antonio Caveri. The province was divided into 5 districts, from west to east Albenga, Savona, Genoa, Chiavari, and Levant. More or less corresponded to the division of the territory of the Republic of Genoa, has lapsed after the first incorporation in France and then in the Kingdom of Sardinia. On April 27, 1875 King Vittorio Emanuele II, by royal decree, officially the new provincial coat of arms. The emblem was again amended in 1933, with the advent of fascism on the right by adding the fasces, the symbol of neo-fascist state. The territorial boundaries In the new provincial boundaries returned many municipalities that are now part of other neighboring provinces. To the west and Andover Laigueglia represents the border with the province of Porto Maurizio (both now in the province of Savona), east of Castelnuovo Magra, Sarzana and Santo Stefano di Magra bordering with the province of Massa-Carrara, then in the adjoining province of La Spezia. Many municipalities, however, lost any political link with the province of Genoa (Bosio, Carros, Fraconalto, Gavi Ligure, Novi Ligure Rocchetta Ligure, Vignole Borbera, Voltage and all Oltregiogo and Val Borbera that will form the province of Novi) because of 'establishment of the province of Alessandria decree of the Minister for Urban Rattazzi (Decree Rattazzi). This caused a bitter dispute between the two provincial governments, registering also common among the inhabitants of the new Alexandrian discontent and unhappy. According to the province of Genoa on the passage of administration was a poor choice because of the ties and historical events that have always tied first with the municipalities bordering the Republic of Genoa (district of Novi) and then the capital of Genoa. Even the same Members of Alexandria in 1909, prompted by the District of Gavi Ligure, expressed his opinion in favor of rejoining the provincial administration of the municipalities of Genoa, but a provincial meeting dulled demand for Gavi Ligure and its surroundings. A decree dated July 8, 1923 established the transition from the municipalities of the province of Pavia Rondanina, Band, Gorreto, Rovegno and Fontanigorda the jurisdiction of Genoa. The incident fueled the hope of the common Alexandrian rapid annexation of the province of Genoa. On the initiative of Members of Genoa was presented to Parliament a bill with a subject of the annexation of the municipalities in the province of Alessandria lost. The law was considered favorable by Houses, with a large majority in an open vote, but reached the final stages of the royal approval on Secretary of the Fascist Party in Alexandria with the president and the provincial mayor telegraphed to the Secretary of the Fascist section of Rome to settle the matter in any way. The request was soon answered and undemocratic means, the turnout for the vote disappeared from the classroom practice of preventing in fact the vote. Municipalities Alexandrians did not present other objections later, chose to remain under the jurisdiction of Piedmont. Further changes and changing provincial administrations occurred in both the eastern Ligurian in the far west of Genoa. The Royal Decree of 2 September 1923 established the transfer of 30 municipalities of the District of Chiavari, in the new province of La Spezia, and November 15 of that year the municipality of Capraia is within the new borders of the province of Livorno. In western Liguria the Royal Decree of 2 January 1927 decreed the passage of the 87 municipalities of the districts of Savona and Albenga into a new province of Savona. In the same decree settled the passage of Cogoleto in the Genoese that turned out well at the end of 1927, new orders, with an area of 1,787 km ² and a population of 762,323 residents in 85 municipalities. In 1928 the union of the communes with Bogliasco Pieve Ligure (now two separate municipalities), Sori with Canepa and the passage of the 19 municipalities in the Great Genoa Genoa further amends the municipal law of the province in 64 municipalities. The latest changes date back to 1932 (passage of Urbe in the Province of Savona) and 1946 (establishment of the town of Pieve Ligure), leaving the geographical boundaries - to the west and east by Cogoleto from Moneglia - definitely traced. Genoa has officially joined the list of cities that will become a metropolitan city. The metropolitan area of Genoa, although not yet established, it is still historically represented by the area that leads from Sestri Levante to Savona and Vado Ligure. The autonomist pressures of those who, in recent decades, it was the promoter of the institution of the province of Chiavari have recently turned off, and took note of the strong historical, cultural and economic Tigullio with the Genoese, common logic of today want to enter this territory officially part of the Metropolitan Area of Genoa, look for unitary forms of government that nonetheless provides a certain level of autonomy of the coastal municipalities. Geography The geography of Liguria is divided into three areas: the sea, the hills and mountains. The province is divided into these categories Genoese territory, sometimes giving views over the sea as sheer cliffs and small villages perched on the mountains. Just think of Genoa, the great maritime city close and push the surrounding mountains. In the province there are eight mountain communities, four regional parks and a marine protected area (Marine Reserve of Portofino). The geographical areas that attract more tourists, as well as Genoa and its territory, are the Golfo Paradiso and Tigullio. Recently, the hinterland has become the protagonist in the tourist scene, thanks to a careful advertising nationally, and many are Italian and foreign tourists who choose small mountain villages to spend their vacation in Liguria. It is the area's topography, the altitude of the mountains and of course the presence of the sea to make perhaps the sole province of Genoa in the Italian ones, because within a few miles, living landscapes, towns, flora and fauna of many different species. Suffice it to say that it is not unusual on the coast to find shrubs like myrtle, strawberry trees and plantations of oranges, lemons, prickly pears and wildlife species such as geckos, typical of southern Italy and, at a distance of no more than a dozen kilometers inland, to see this scenario completely changed, with woods of firs, yews and pines of the mountains, populated by deer, deer, deer, raptors and rodents that are common in alpine regions such as Valle d'Aosta and Trentino- Alto Adige.
