City of Monza and Brianza

The Province of Monza and Brianza is a province of Lombardy, established on 11 June 2004, leaving behind the land from what was then the province of Milan. Only in June 2009, the province has also started to be effectively operational, with the election of the first provincial council. Not all provincial bodies have yet been posted by the original Province of Milan.
For the 50 municipalities included in the law establishing it were added 5, which came officially to be part of the new province December 18, 2009.
The capital of new province with 121,619 inhabitants and Monza is the total population of 55 municipalities that have joined is more than 842,000 inhabitants. With an area of 405.49 km ² is the third smallest province of Italy, preceded only by that of Prato and one in Trieste, but the second, after Naples, as population density and the twenty-first out of 110 as people.
The urbanized area of the province of Monza and Brianza is very high. Compared to other Italian provinces the average ratio of land consumption, the ratio of urbanized area and total area exceeds 53%. The province of Monza and Brianza is therefore the province of Lombardy with the highest rate of land consumption. Municipalities are the most urbanized Liss, Vedano al Lambro and Bovisio, which also come to overcome the '80% index of land use.
