Municipality of Pesaro and Urbino

The province of Pesaro and Urbino is a province of the Marche region of 364,896 inhabitants. The two provincial capitals are Pesaro and Urbino, the official headquarters is located in Pesaro, as well as all administrative bodies and the provincial offices. Facing east on the Adriatic Sea, bordered to the north with the Emilia-Romagna (province of Rimini) and the Republic of San Marino, south-east of the province of Ancona, on the south-west, Umbria (province of Perugia), and the west by Tuscany (Arezzo).
Corresponds to the historical and geographical region of the Duchy of Urbino, Duchy papal already. In the province are commonly spoken in Italian, but it is also widely used for culture and tradition, dialect, predominantly type Romagna, with its local hybridization, used in major centers and in the valleys, where you can find also quite wide variations by differences . On the territory there are linguistic minorities in Umbria. The province of Pesaro and Urbino is the most southern end of the "Gallo-Italic language," and is the only province in central Italy to speak a dialect still typical of the north.
