The Kingdom of Sardinia is the political entity founded by the Catalan-Aragon in Sardinia under King James II in 1324 and became extinct in 1861 with the proclamation of the Kingdom of Italy by the XXIV and its last king Vittorio Emanuele II of Savoy. The kingdom was created on paper by Pope Boniface VIII in 1297 under the name Kingdom of Sardinia and Corsica [1] to solve the political and diplomatic crisis between the crown of Aragon Duchy of Anjou and Sicily (the Sicilian Vespers) . The concrete realization of the Kingdom of Sardinia will first war of the Catalan-Aragonese against Pisa [2], in alliance with the kingdom of the Judicial Arborea. It will therefore be long resisted by the island kingdom of Arborea and the same will be considered finally ended with the defeat of the kingdom Judicial, only in 1420.
