Town of Oristano

Oristano (Sardinian Aristanis, Oristán in Spanish, Catalan Oristany) is an Italian town with about 32,000 inhabitants, city and capital of the Province of Oristano in the west-central Sardinia.
It is situated in the northern plains of Campidano Campidano that region of Orissa. Established provincial capital July 16, 1974, has an ancient history, particularly related to the Giudice di Arborea and the figure of Eleanor of Arborea
Monuments
Mariano II Tower or Tower of St. Christopher or Port'a Bridges. Built in 1290, was one of two main entrance doors of the ancient city walls, is located in Piazza Roma. The twin tower of St Philip or Port'a Mari, which was located in Piazza Manno, was demolished in 1907, when in a serious state of neglect and decay was judged "no cultural or artistic value" by the Ministry of Education.

Churches

Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta (1130). Destroyed in a siege, it was rebuilt during the reign of Mariano II. Only foundations remain of the original structure of the apse and the bell tower and the chapel of the Remedy, home to some medieval sculptures.
In 1733 the thirteenth century gothic cathedral was demolished to make way for a baroque. Reconstruction of the seventeenth century the Chapel belongs dell'Archivietto. Inside are the relics of Sant'Archelao.
Church of San Francesco, in the neoclassical style, the current church in 1835 by engineer Cagliari Cima
Church of Santa Chiara (consecrated in 1428). It's a Franco-Gothic style building with a single nave and a square apse

Church of San Martino
San Sebastian. Also known as St. Sebastian outside the walls, was the only medieval church, with St. Martin, who was outside the city walls of the city, was frequented by pilgrims and peasants.
St. John of the flowers, originally called St. John the outside, was one of the country churches of the medieval city
Sant'Efisio. Baroque church dating from the eighteenth century, is located in the Su Brugu
