Final design is being completed on the motorway dell'A18 Siracusa - Gela (completed only up to Rosolini) and is being developed to close the ring A29/A29dir from Mazara del Vallo Birgi.

On 23 December 2009 the first sites were launched, referring to the preparatory work of the Strait of Messina bridge. Are underway, in addition, the works are completed to 4 lanes of state-Agrigento Caltanissetta; advanced are the plans for adaptation to a highway also features the Agrigento and Palermo-Catania-Ragusa: as you can see, the 3 main projects today are underway to explore the creation of boards of penetration in the south of the island, almost entirely devoid of highways. Sicily is connected to the rest of the peninsula by the national group FS (Ferrovie dello Stato) and Trenitalia. However, the railway network in Sicily is not very developed in terms of capacity. Sicily is one of the most advanced in the Italian air traffic, primarily due to the increasing tourist flows and the fact that it is somewhat distant island of large urban areas in the north, is served by three international airports and two who connections to:

* Airport Catania Vincenzo Bellini, sixth national airport traffic volume [18].
* Airport Falcone and Borsellino Palermo, tenth Italian hub for passenger numbers
* Airport Trapani Vincenzo Florio, the twenty-third Italian airport for passenger numbers, a significant growth area, which effects daily with a large number of airlines flying to Italian and European cities. Civilian and military.
* Comiso Vincenzo Magliocco Airport, being activated, probably in 2010, is expected to be of great importance as the center of the province of Ragusa, Caltanissetta, Enna, Siracusa and the South of Catania.

There are also other smaller airports:

* Lampedusa Airport, with connections also from northern Italy.
* Airport Pantelleria, between the airports located in the island territory, more organized.

Ports
