Caltanissetta (Nyssa or Cartanissetta in Sicilian) is an Italian town of 60,223 inhabitants, capital of the province of Caltanissetta is the most important town in central Sicily, surpassing in size the nearby Enna. The municipality covers an area of 416.97 km ² and the adjacent San Cataldo form a conurbation with over 83,000 inhabitants. The city lies at centoduesimo (102 º) place among the Italian municipalities by population and the fourteenth (14th) as an extension of the Italian municipalities. Sicily is the second largest provincial capital after the fourth Dubrovnik common extension following Noto, Ragusa and Monreale. The population density in cities is approximately 144 inhabitants / km ². It is the sixth highest in Italy main city, and the second after Enna in Sicily. The city is home to the Court of Appeal.
