Livorno is a city of 160,742 inhabitants of Tuscany, capital of the province.
Situated along the coast of the Ligurian Sea, Livorno is one of the most important Italian ports, and as a commercial port and tourist centers, industrial and national importance, including all the Tuscan cities, is usually considered to be the youngest, although they are present in its territory historical evidence from ancient times have survived the massive bombing of the Second World War.
The city, which developed from the end of the sixteenth century by the Medici family, is famous for being the birthplace of prestigious personalities such as Amedeo Modigliani, Pietro Mascagni, Giovanni Fattori, and Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.
