City of Pisa The Province of Pisa is a province of Tuscany 411mila population. It extends from the alluvial plain of the Arno river, in western Tuscany, to the Ligurian Sea and is shaped like a gun upside down. It is bordered to the north by the Province of Lucca, on the east by the provinces of Florence and Siena, on the south by the Province of Grosseto, on the west by the Province of Livorno and the Ligurian Sea. Geography The province includes, besides the capital, Pisa, thirty-eight municipalities. The area north of the province is crossed by small anti-Apennine mountain range of Monte Pisano, adjacent to the last spurs of the Alps, separating the province from Pisa to Lucca.
