City of Pistoia Pistoia is an Italian town of 90,280 inhabitants, in central Italy, capital of the province. The town of Pistoia is crossed by several rivers, but no large, all characterized by a distinctly torrential regime. The main one is that skirts the Ombrone Pistoiese west of the city. Coupling near the district of San Biagio, the Ombrone Pistoiese has clear waters and clean, able to accommodate valuable fish species such as brown trout, bullhead, and the roach. However, its scope (sometimes also exceptional in the cold months), suffers drastic decreases in the summer, mainly because of indiscriminate levies for agricultural purposes, then the stream can remain dry for several months, with serious damage to fish. Another important river is the river song, which encircles the city walls to the north-east. Again the stream to the gates of the city with adequate flow and water quality good enough. However, now in the industrial area of St. Augustine, the song is noticeably affected by pollution of various kinds, slightly mitigated by a sewage treatment plant located near the town Armacani. The River Bure comes from the hill dell'Acquifredola into two branches, which traverse the valleys of Santo Moro and Baggio and congregate near Candeglia; continues north of the city of Pistoia to jump into the river Agna. Other smaller rivers are: the Rio Tens, a tributary of the song at the cemeteries, the Vinci Montagnana, which flows into Pistoiese Pontelungo in place, the Brandeglio Vinci, also a tributary of the main watercourse Pistoia near the village of Gello. Unfortunately, even these small streams are affected by water withdrawals by nurseries and, therefore, the final part of their course is almost devoid of life. The area in which lies the municipality is classified as a seismic risk, Pistoia so that was the epicenter of some seismic events also intense. In 1196 an earthquake reached a magnitude 4.83 on the Richter Scale and the sixth degree of the Mercalli scale, the July 11, 1293 there was the strongest earthquake, which reached 5.57 magnitude on the Richter Scale and eighth grade Mercalli, October 4, 1527 was another strong earthquake measuring 5.37 on the Richter Scale and Mercalli VI-VIII grade in the basic areas, and finally, 12 August 1815 another earthquake reached a magnitude of 4.83 on the Richter Scale and the sixth grade of Mercalli
