Municipality of Trent Trento (Trento in Trentino dialect, Trient in German, English Trent, Trente in French) is an Italian city of 115,243 inhabitants, capital of the autonomous province and autonomous region of Trentino-Alto Adige Territory The city is situated on the Adige valley, 55 km south of Bolzano-Bozen and 100 km north of Verona. To the west is dominated by Mount Bondone (2,090 m above sea level Palon Cima), north-west of the Paganella (2,125 m), north-east from Mount Calisio (1,096 m), east from the Marzola (1,738 m) and south-east of the Vigolana (Beak Filadonna, 2,150 m above sea level). There is the weather station located in Trento, the city was hardest hit by the "snow of the century." The city of Trento is situatal the middle of an urban area including Mezzolombardo and longitudinally between Rovereto and expanded east to Valsugana, beyond the town of Pergine. Trent has extreme diversity and spatial population. The local population is not just in cities but also in many centers around (suburbs), extremely different from each other and still retain its own identity that is urban, village, rural or mountainous. The ancient city has 80,000 inhabitants (October 2004). The urban area with surrounding municipalities to reach 150,000. Among the suburbs, is the most populous Gardolo (north of the city, 12 449 inhabitants, the district), while the least populated is Sardagna (only 1 106 inhabitants). The majority of the suburbs is distributed in the valley of the Adige and the hills east of the city, while the village of Sardagna, located to the west is situated on a rock 560 meters above sea level and is connected to the valley floor by a small cable car; countries Monte Bondone are located between 490 meters above sea level Vigolo Baselga and 1650 meters Vason and are all part of the same municipal district. The vastness of the municipality and then derives a density of population is not characteristic of compact cities and high concentration of population (668 inhabitants / km ² against, for example, the 1 869 inhabitants / km ² of Bolzano). Trent keeps a very close relationship with the mountain, in particular the Monte Bondone, also called the Alps of Trent, part of the area is within reach from the city center through the main road. At the basin of the Bondone Viote you can visit the Centre for Alpine Ecology and the botanical garden, and begin the trip to the Natural Reserve of the Tre Cime Monte Bondone, (Cornet, Dos d'Abraham and Cima Verde). The 15,803 acres that make up the municipality of Trento are divided as follows (in order of size): * 50.62% of land area covered by forests (7 999.21 hectares) * 20.09% of agricultural area (174.12 hectares 3) * 7.70% of residential area (216.64 hectares 1) * 3.33% of grassland area (525.84 hectares) * 3.23% of the unproductive area, mostly mountainous and rocky area (510.99 hectares) * 3.00% of land area covered by roads (474.33 hectares) * 2.63% for other services (416.24 acres) * 2.48% of area designated for public park in a residential area (392.62 hectares) * 2.48% and industrial production area (391.56 hectares) * 2.02% of land area covered by rivers, lakes and biotopes (320 hectares) * 0.89% of land area covered by rail (140.43 hectares) * 0.70% of the mining area (111.40 hectares) * 0.61% of ski area (96.37 hectares) * 0.12% of area designated for parking (19.42 hectares) * 0.09% Other (13.82 hectares) Hydrography The city of Trento is crossed by two main rivers: the river Adige from north to south and Fersina from east to south-west, eventually flowing nell'Adige. Next to the Adige, flows parallel to the Adigetto, a small canal.
