The Morley Theater, Theater Verzaro already, is the largest theater of Perugia. Named after the famous musician from Perugia.

In 1777 the middle class decided to build a new theater in response to the nobles who built the Teatro del Pavone to ninety families that formed the "Society for the construction of a new theater, which bought an old nunnery and entrusted the project to Perugia Alessio Lorenzini. This gave room to the classic shape of a horse and faced the problem of limited space: in fact, to reserve a box for each client family (five tiers of boxes of 27) decided to have the entire structure and to reduce bias available space of the input.
Work began in June 1778, ended in April 1780. The inauguration was held on August 15, 1781 and the theater, which at the time could accommodate 1,200 spectators, was given the name "Civic Theatre of Verzaro. Participated in the work of the best local artists of the time, like Baldassarre Orsini and Charles Spiridon Mariotti.
In 1874 it was restored and modified by Guglielmo Calderini, who gave it its current structure, while it was redecorated by artists such as Francesco Moretti Piervittori and Mariano, who worked on the ceiling of the curtain. At the inaugural discourse, the new theater was named after the musician Perugia Francis Morley.
The activity of the theater continued until the early twentieth century, but declined during the years of fascism until it was requisitioned by the Germans during the occupation of the city and allocated it to shows for their soldiers. After the war, the theater was so badly damaged, the City, which was sold, between 1951 and 1953 funded the restoration, which involves re-roofing, the amendment to the stage in the orchestra pit and marble flooring atrium and foyer.

Currently, the theater has 785 seats. The stage measures 20 meters in width, 10.5 meters in depth. The proscenium is 10.5 meters wide.
