City of Terni

Terni is a town of 112,890 inhabitants of Umbria, capital of the province and 41 º Italian municipality by population.
City high rate of industrial development since the nineteenth century, when steel mills were established, has suffered heavy bombing during the Second World War, but have not prevented the economy to remain one of the hubs of Umbria.
Terni is also known as the "City of Lovers", since it was Valentine's bishop and his remains are kept there.
The archaeological remains
The ruins of Fausto's 32 BC, located within the city park "The Walk". This structure we can see parts of opus reticulatum in two-color blocks. It was built in 32 AD by order of the Liberal Fausto, during the reign of Tiberius, and could accommodate up to 10,000 people. Currently it is open for 2 / 3 of the perimeter, being a part occupied by the Carmelite church, but you can see the original ellipse. Periodically it is used as a site for cultural events and concerts.

The Archaeological Museum of Terni CHAOS (area ex-SIRI), where they collected the remains of pre-Roman and Roman excavations recovered from many citizens. Of particular interest is the exposure of the tombs discovered in the necropolis of the Iron Age of Steel, S. Peter Field and Alterocca
