The Galleria Borghese is located in Piazzale Scipione Borghese 5, inside the Villa Borghese in Rome, Italy Pinciana. The museum displays works by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, Agnolo Bronzino, Antonio Canova, Caravaggio, Raphael, Peter Paul Rubens, Titian. It can be considered unique with regard to the number and importance of the sculptures by Bernini and paintings by Caravaggio.
It was formed in 1902 following the acquisition by the state of the collections belonging to the Italian Fidecommisso Borghese. Borghese Gallery's first director was John Piancastelli (1845-1926) who was succeeded in 1906 Giulio Cantalamessa, former director of the Accademia Galleries.

In 2008 she was visited by 486,885 people.
